ANAHEIM, CALIF. — Medical device contract manufacturer Precision Tool & Die LLC has completed construction of another clean room in its 35,000-square-foot facility in Derry, N.H.
The custom maker of injection molded components and injection molding tooling designed the Class 8 clean room so it is suitable for expansion.
Filter Sales & Service Inc. of Burlington, Mass., and J. Lawrene Hall Co. Inc. of Nashua, N.H., built and outfitted the new 2,600-square-foot clean room. Construction started in April, and Precision completed the certification and validation processes in September. Precision is registered under ISO 9001:2008.
Precision operates five welders from Branson Ultrasonics Corp. including a 910iw ultrasonic unit along with a Dukane Corp. 210 ultrasonic welder.
Injection molding accounts for about 65 percent of Precision's sales with mold making for the remainder, said Mark Marchessault, director of sales.
Precision employs 35 and forecasts a 5-10 percent increase in sales during 2015 vs. last year's result exceeding $5 million.
"Prior to building the hard-wall clean room, we operated and continue to operate two Class 7 soft-wall clean rooms," Marchessault said.
Precision operates six presses in the Class 8 clean room and handles assembly and packaging of medical devices for cardiac care, gastroenterology, infusion therapy, oncology and vascular surgery applications in the Class 7 rooms.
Another seven presses operate elsewhere in the plant.
Precision has 10 Arburgs of 28-83 tons, Sandrettos of 175 and 400 tons and a Cincinnati of 250 tons.
Precision's presses offer capabilities for horizontal and vertical molding.
Precision's in-house tool design and construction team uses Autodesk Moldflow Insight 2012 for mold filling analysis and Pro-E and SolidWorks software for product design. |
