The Society of the Plastics Industry Inc. is seeking nominations for the next Plastics Hall of Fame inductees.

Washington-based SPI said nominations must be submitted no later than Sept. 26. SPI administers the nominating process on behalf of The Plastics Academy, which makes up the initial screening committee. An induction ceremony for the successful nominees will be held March 22, 2015 at a reception on the eve of the opening of SPI’s NPE 2015 trade show and conference in Orlando, Fla.

NPE will run from March 23-27.

“Election into the Plastics Hall of Fame is the greatest honor bestowed on individuals in our industry,” stated Jay Gardiner, president of The Plastics Academy and president of Gardiner Plastics Inc. “These are people who, through their tireless dedication and extraordinary accomplishments, have significantly contributed to the advancement of the plastics industry. We encourage nominations from both individuals and companies in the plastics industry worldwide.”

Ten inductees entered the Hall of Fame in the last nomination process in 2012. They encompassed outstanding contributions in areas such as academia, equipment development, packaging innovation, processing, resin distribution and industry association work.

Nomination forms for filling out online or for printing are available here, or forms can be requested from Jane Mott-Palmer, executive assistant to the president of SPI, at (202) 974-5224.

Completed nominations with supporting attachments should be emailed to Mott-Palmer or posted to her attention at The Society of the Plastics Industry, Inc., 1667 K Street, NW, Suite 1000, Washington, D.C., 20006, USA.

The screening committee will select up to 12 nominated individuals for consideration by the living members of the Plastics Hall of Fame. Up to nine inductees will be selected at the March 22 ceremony at the Chapin Theatre in the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando.
