Nidaplast LLC has opened offices, warehouses and a workshop in Port St. Lucie, Fla., to speed delivery of composite and environmental products made at its headquarters in Thiant, France, to U.S. customers.
The 30-year-old company extrudes polypropylene honeycombs in blocks and panels for the construction, marine, transportation, wind turbine, landscaping and rainwater management markets.
One sheet product, NidaCore, has been offered in the United States for 20 years and is popular with boat builders for its strong, light-weight and sound-damping qualities.
The Florida distribution center will allow Nidaplast to have its entire range of products available in the United States.
“We will now be able to deliver products sent from Thiant directly to our customers, saving them valuable time. Our local cutting-and-finishing workshop will enable us to be proactive and respond rapidly to orders, particularly from shipyards and other transport providers,” Nidaplast co-owner Maritsa Dan said in a news release.
The Florida operation also fits into a global strategy spurred by large-scale projects in Russia, the Czech Republic and Saudi Arabia. Nidaplast has started designing products tailored to meet regulations specific to different countries, according to Claire Ducreux, head of the company’s marketing and communications.
“With just one manufacturing process we can offer many different solutions and applications,” Ducreux said in the release.
Nidaplast is a subsidiary of Etex, an international group holding company that specializes in building materials and systems. |
