Plastics recycling company CK Group said it planned a re-brand, a group restructuring, new appointments and promotions, and a “significant investment in new plant and machinery.”
The firm declined to say what the investment would actually amount to as part of what it called “another phase of significant expansion.”
However it did reveal that among the projects being funded were a second wash line at the firm's Binbrook, England, plant, enhanced compounding capability at its Melrose operation in Scotland and expansion of its laboratory testing facilities in Binbrook.
The company’s CK Plastics Recycling will be shifted to the CK Polymers unit under the rebranding, while a new division — CK Compounds — will supplier materials made from 100 percent recycled plastics sourced in the U.K. to a range of plastics processing companies.
The changes will help customers better understand the business and its services, said Mark Whitney, managing director.
“We were conscious that our future expansion plans required much greater clarity both internally and externally on what each division did.
“We had grown as a business but our brand image was somewhat confusing and outdated given our size and the presence we now have across global markets and our growing reputation for supplying quality products to buyers eager for consistency.”
CK Distribution has been renamed CK Services “to remove any ambiguity that this is simply a distribution outfit.”
Services had contracts with 300 local authorities and works with wheeled garbage bin manufacturers and waste management companies.
CK Hong Kong operation will continue as before. |
